It was a challenging day today as we honored the life of MaKenzie Lynn Hanover, who lost her battle with cancer on Memorial Day 2011. Team Kenzie was still strong at 170 members and over $7,000 raised. This year I ran the 5K with a time of over 30 minutes, which I consider to be not bad for my first time. My wife and I also named our daughter, Abigail MaKenzie Helvin, in honor of MaKenzie. I hope that our daughter can have the kind of fight and impact that MaKenzie showed. |
